The Barn at Gibbet Hill Wedding, Groton, Massachusetts

When your friend who you've known your whole life asks you to shoot her wedding at The Barn at Gibbet Hill, you say YES! I have known Marisa and Angelos for what seems like forever, and we all met through the Greek church. We had already taken their engagement photos the year prior, so it was so exciting that the day had finally arrived. It was the most fun Greek wedding I have been to, and it was very special knowing many of the guests and family members.

We started the day off at the hotel getting ready while the guys got ready at the house. Next we met at the church to seal the deal! Greek ceremonies are unlike most. There are no vows, and there is no "I do", and it's the same ceremony that has been performed for over 1,500 years. The reception at The Barn at Gibbet Hill was just as stunning! We lucked out with an incredible sunset for portraits, and Greek danced the night away.

My advice to anyone attending a Greek wedding: participate in the dancing, even if you don't know the steps! The most common dance is called the Kalamatiano, and it's a 12 step line dance. You could also look up a video on YouTube before you go. You won't regret it, I promise!

Congrats you two!
