THE JOURNAL / INSPIRATION
JUNE 20, 2023

This styled wedding shoot at Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, Massachusetts brought together a local creative team for an afternoon of wedding inspiration. The historic stone house and surrounding grounds shaped the photographs, with clothing, flowers, and table details created for the setting.
Willowdale Estate sits within a 720-acre state forest along the Ipswich River. The grounds offer a woodland setting around the house, with a range of textures and spaces for photographs.
The early-1900s stone house combines Craftsman and Tudor Revival architecture. Its windows, original woodwork, and stone details gave this editorial a quiet, historic backdrop.
The house and tented courtyard offer different settings for a celebration. Ask the venue about the spaces and weather alternatives available for your date and guest count.
A considered plan leaves room to enjoy the spaces you have chosen. For this shoot, the creative team brought together flowers, clothing, table settings, and paper details that complemented the estate.
Willowdale is in Topsfield on Massachusetts’ North Shore, north of Boston. If guests are traveling, plan transport and accommodation around that location.
The photographs below share our interpretation of the setting. The creative team is credited at the end of the post.
