Cape Cod Documentary Wedding Photographer

Your people, together on the Cape.

Cape Cod documentary wedding photography for couples who want to spend the day with their people. From an intimate backyard gathering to a wedding weekend by the water, I photograph the celebration as it unfolds, with care for the setting, the relationships, and the moments you will want to return to.

A wedding on the Cape can hold years of memories before the day even begins. A family home, a favorite stretch of beach, a place you have returned to every summer. I pay attention to that connection, and to the people making new memories there with you.

My documentary approach follows the day as it happens: the conversations before the ceremony, the reactions during the speeches, the children finding their own adventure, and the gathering that carries on around you. These are photographs of the experience you actually had.

We also make time for family photographs and relaxed couple portraits. I offer clear, gentle direction when it is useful, then let you get back to your guests. You can have photographs together by the water and still spend the wedding being part of it.

I’m Eleni.

Eleni, documentary wedding photographer serving New England

I’m Eleni, a documentary wedding photographer working across Cape Cod and New England in digital and 35mm film. I’m drawn to celebrations with a personal connection to the place and room for people to be themselves.

My Cape Cod work includes intimate gatherings in Chatham and Osterville, and weddings that move from a chapel ceremony to a yacht club reception. Every celebration gets its own preparation. I take time to understand your people, your priorities, and how you want the day to feel.

Originally from New Hampshire, I share my life with my husband, Lukas, and our dog, Oskar. I’ve hiked the Appalachian Trail, and I’m usually happiest outdoors or making something with my hands. That curiosity about people and places carries into my photography.

GETTING MARRIED ON CAPE COD

A setting that feels like you.

There is no single way to have a Cape Cod wedding. A dinner overlooking the harbor, a tent at a family home, or a weekend that brings everyone back to the coast can each have its own rhythm. We build the photography around the gathering you want to have.

The Upper & Mid Cape. From Falmouth and Osterville to Yarmouth and Dennis, your day might bring together a village ceremony, a waterfront reception, or time at home with family. We consider the distance between those places so the photographs fit comfortably into the day.

The Lower Cape. Chatham, Harwich, and Brewster offer settings for a celebration close to the water. If you would like a few portraits on the beach, we plan for the light, the walk, and the return to your guests.

The Outer Cape. For a wedding in Orleans, Wellfleet, Truro, or Provincetown, the landscape may be part of what brought you here. We make space for that sense of place while keeping the people and the celebration at the center of the photographs.

Still choosing a setting? My Cape Cod wedding venue guide is a place to begin. You can also see how an intimate celebration unfolds in the Osterville wedding story below.

We start with a conversation about the two of you and the gathering you are planning. I want to know who is coming, what the place means to you, and which parts of the day you are most looking forward to.

I help with the photography timeline, including family photographs, travel between locations, and time for the two of you. For summer celebrations, we allow breathing room for getting around the Cape. For outdoor plans, we talk through the light, wind, and an alternative if the weather changes.

My wedding collections begin at $5,000 for six hours. Eight- and ten-hour collections include a second photographer, and the ten-hour collection includes two rolls of film. Film photography can also be added to any package. Your proposal confirms the coverage and any travel details.

A FEW QUESTIONS

A place to begin.

Yes. I photograph weddings across Cape Cod, from the Upper and Mid Cape to the Lower and Outer Cape. Share your date and venue or location ideas, and we can talk about availability, coverage, and travel.

Yes. Some of my Cape Cod work has taken place at private homes, with the ceremony, dinner, and time with family shaping the day. A smaller guest list can still mean a full wedding experience. We choose coverage around your plans, rather than the size of the gathering.

Absolutely. We plan the family photographs that matter to you and leave room for relaxed couple portraits. I offer direction when it helps, then return to documenting the celebration. Those portraits sit alongside the candid moments in your finished gallery.

We consider the light, the tide when relevant, walking distances, and the time it takes to move between locations. We also discuss an alternative for outdoor plans before the day arrives. The photography timeline should give you time together and time with your guests.

Yes. I photograph on both digital and 35mm film. The ten-hour wedding collection includes two rolls of film, and film can be added to any package. Explore film wedding photography here.

Send an inquiry with your date, venue or location ideas, and a little about the celebration you want to have. We will talk through availability and coverage. A signed agreement and retainer reserve your date, with the photography and travel details confirmed in your proposal.
