Getting Ready
I didn't exactly know what to expect when I arrived at the hotel in Woodstock, Vermont because I hadn't met Meg and Sean yet! We had chatted on the phone a couple times where they told me all about their Simon Pearce wedding plans, and they seemed super down to earth. They chose the intimate venue because they just wanted to spend the day with their closest people. We got ready at the Vesper Hotel in Woodstock, and then made our way over to Simon Pearce in Quechee for the wedding.
I had never shot a wedding at Simon Pearce before, but I had checked out the space that past summer to get an idea of what I'd be working with. I used to spend my childhood winters in Woodstock and I remember going Simon Pearce to watch the glass blowing downstairs. As a kid, I obviously paid no attention to the rest of the store. As an adult, I can say it's HEAVEN!
The Simon Pearce Wedding
The first look was outside by the waterfall, and after that we got all of the family photos out of the way. They had a big group, so I was stoked to do that all prior to the ceremony! The ceremony took place upstairs in the main room, while reception was in the back room. There was even a view of the waterfall and covered bridge! We snuck onto the deck for some sunset portraits directly after the ceremony, too. Fall sunset times can be tricky like that but we made some magic out there! After cocktail hour, the group had the most delicious dinner followed by cake cutting. The space was small, but everyone got down on the tiny dance floor to the Spotify playlist! This Vermont intimate wedding was nothing short of magical.
A bit untraditional, and exactly my style! If you're considering a wedding at Simon Pearce or an intimate wedding in Vermont, this is your sign!
